Principal Scientific Adviser will inaugurate the India’s Oldest Astronomy and Space Education Labs – KHAGOLSHALAS
Space Foundation in collaboration with Principal Scientific Adviser has effectively accomplished the establishment of “Khagolshalas- Astronomy and Space Education Labs” in 20 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas all over India with the vision of empowering youth with tools and technology to become future scientists and astronomers.

Time- 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (IST)
This date commemorates the First Human Space flight and is celebrated as Yuri’s night worldwide as recognized by the UNO and will be the perfect date to dedicate “Khagolshalas” to the younger generation of our nation, to give flight to their aspirations and dreams.
The Chief Guest of the event is Dr. K. VijayRaghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and the Guest of Honor is Dr. Patrick Miller, Director, International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC), USA. The event will be graced by the presence of few other dignitaries and officials from Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
The interminable journey of KHAGOLSHALAS started with the setup of Astronomy labs followed by teacher training Program which was named as “Train the Trainer” program and successful completion of various events such as Khagolshala Asteroid Search Campaign, National Science Day, Project Paridhi and ongoing Global Astronomy Month celebrations in the JNV’s.
SPACE Foundation has already initiated unparalleled and tremendous opportunity in this new venture and will double down the efforts to work towards the holistic development of students leading to a developed country.
